The Museum has received a grant from Weymouth Town Council to support some special Weymouth 450 Local History Days throughout the summer and the next two of these drop-in sessions will be on: Thursday 5th and Friday 6th August.
During these sessions we would like residents, or regular visitors, to bring in their memories, photographs and artefacts of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis and the surrounding areas. We will then scan the photos, photograph the artefacts and record memories on video. This will then add to our archive of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis history which has fewer modern details and no recordings.
It will, of course, be wonderful to hear what you can tell us about an object or picture that you bring in. But don’t worry if you don’t have any details as hopefully the experts in our Local History Centre will be able to find out more.
So do drop in to see us and visit the Museum at the same time, with free entry to those participating in the celebration.
