Upwey Down Memory Lane

Monday, November 18, 2024

‘Upwey Down Memory Lane’ is a talk looking at the village of Upwey some 70 years ago and some of the changes which have taken place.

Sue Virgin has collected memories and photos from villagers past and present, putting together this presentation as well as village history exhibitions.  Sue was born and brought up in Upwey; the Virgin family farming there for almost 100yrs (1918-2010)

Her interest in family history expanded to include village life, after speaking to people who remembered her family and told tales of days gone by.

Sue now enjoys sharing the memories with a wider audience at talks like this.

The talk will be held in Hope United Reformed Church at 8 Trinity Street.  Doors open at 2.00 pm and the talk will start at 2.30pm.

Tickets will be available on the door and are £2.00 for members of the Friends and £3.00 for visitors. (Exact change would be appreciated, if possible).
